The Inform Prize - Glasgow
Connecting Students, Employers, and Innovation

The Inform Prize is a competition designed to bring students and employers together through innovation, collaboration, and fresh ideas. It gives students the opportunity to present their projects to industry leaders, refine their communication skills, and explore real career opportunities in technology. For employers, it opens the door to meet future talent and engage directly with the next generation of problem-solvers.
History of the Inform Prize
The competition began in Aberdeen in 2014, created by Intelligent Plant as a way to showcase local student talent and connect them with businesses in the region. Since its launch, the Inform Prize has grown into a recognised initiative that highlights the strength of Scotland’s tech community. It has supported students from multiple universities, encouraged collaboration across campuses, and offered employers a unique way to engage with new ideas and potential recruits.
At its heart, the Inform Prize is about bridging academia and industry. The format combines project presentations, Q&A sessions with expert judges, and networking opportunities. Students gain the experience of presenting in a professional setting, while employers get insight into the skills and creativity being developed within Scotland’s universities.
Inform Prize in Glasgow
In September 2025, VeryConnect hosted the first Inform Prize – Glasgow, expanding the competition beyond its original base in Aberdeen. The event welcomed students from universities across Glasgow and connected them with employers ranging from global organisations to fast-growing start-ups.
The day featured keynote talks, networking sessions, and three prize categories recognising the best presentation, strongest technical implementation, and most innovative idea.
