The Inform Prize is heading back to Glasgow this September, bringing together studentrs, tech employers and industry leaders for what promises to be another landmark day for Scotland’s technology community.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural Glasgow event, the 2026 edition is set to take place on 16 September in Glasgow City Centre (venue to be confirmed), giving university students the chance to showcase their software projects to a live audience of professionals and potential employers.
Open to student teams from the University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow Caledonian University, and the University of the West of Scotland, the competition welcomes projects built as part of university coursework or independently as side ventures. Teams looking to enter must submit a registration form along with a video presentation of their project before the deadline of 23:59 on 30 June 2026.
Now in its twelfth year overall, the Inform Prize was founded in Aberdeen in 2014 by Intelligent Plant as a platform to connect local student talent with the business community. Glasgow joined the map in 2025, hosted by VeryConnect, with the event featuring keynote talks, networking sessions, and prizes across three categories: best presentation, strongest technical implementation, and most innovative idea.
Industry professionals and students not competing are also encouraged to attend. Attendee tickets are free, with the day offering live project demos, networking opportunities, and an awards ceremony.

Why Get Involved?
Visibility where it counts
Sponsoring the Inform Prize puts your brand in front of a highly engaged audience of students, industry professionals, and tech employers. Depending on your level of involvement, that means logo placement on event materials and advertising, social media promotion in the weeks leading up to the event, mentions in post-event press coverage, and the opportunity to host a stand on the day itself.
Direct access to emerging talent
The competition attracts some of the brightest computer science students from across Glasgow’s universities. As a sponsor, you’ll have a unique opportunity to engage with that talent directly – whether through networking on the day, a presence on the judging panel, or simply having your brand front of mind as students begin thinking about their careers.
Real community impact
One of the core goals of the Inform Prize is to help talented graduates put down roots in Glasgow and the surrounding region. By sponsoring, you’re actively contributing to the local tech ecosystem and helping retain skilled talent in the local economy – a story that speaks directly to your ESG commitments as a business.
Flexible involvement
We offer a range of sponsorship packages to suit different budgets and goals, from headline partnerships with prominent branding and judging opportunities, through to targeted support for specific elements of the day such as refreshments, photography, or AV.
